A Greek politician. A count from his father’s side and hailing from a Cypriot aristocratic family from his mother’s side. Well educated, clear-eyed, a kind soul and with faith in God. His selflessness is evident throughout his life. A brilliant diplomat and a prominent figure of the European political scene of his time, he went on to become Foreign Minister of Russia and then the first Governor of Greece, following the country’s liberation from the Ottoman rule, until his untimely demise by assassination. The love of his life was Roksandra Sturdza, however it wasn’t meant to be. When duty calls to govern Greece, although warned that an assassination plot is at hand, Kapodistrias arrives in Greece nonetheless, to serve his country. Following the path of the Christ and His Sacrifice, Kapodistrias accepts his fate and sacrifices himself for the good of his country.
